Ana Cristina Melo de Pontes Botelho is a research professor at the Center for Comparative Constitutional Studies and a collaborating professor at the University of Brasília. She obtained a PhD in Law from the University of Brasília/UnB (2018), with an emphasis in “Law, State, and Constitution.” She was a visiting scholar at Boston College Law School and taught at the Brasiliense Institute of Public Law/IDP. Previously she was a federal auditor of external control at the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts, where she held the position of minister’s assistant for more than 10years, beginning in 1996. In 2021 and 2022 she served as director-general of the Serzedello Corrêa Institute at the Brazilian Federal Court of Accounts (ISC/TCU) and the TCU’s Corporate University and was a professor in the postgraduate program in Legislative Power and Parliamentary Law at the Brazilian Legislative Institute (ILB/Senate). Herexpertise covers the areas of constitutional and administrative law (focusing on public power oversight and control), comparative constitutional law, judicial review, constitutional control, judicial activism, and political corruption.
