Nikolay Hovhannisyan is a human rights lawyer and activist based in Armenia. He joined the Eurasia Partnership Foundation in August 2018 as a human rights project manager and currently serves as a senior program manager. He has been involved in the sphere of human rights protection in the nonprofit sector since 2011. Hovhannisyan holds a bachelor’s degree in jurisprudence from Yerevan State University in Armenia and a master’s degree in international human rights law from the University of Groningen in the Netherlands. Apart from formal education, He has participated in a number of professional trainings on topics of public international law, international criminal law and humanitarian law, human rights education, and the rights of vulnerable groups. Hovhannisyan has written and submitted reports, policy papers, and recommendations on freedom of religion or belief, nondiscrimination, LGBT rights, child rights, and women’s rights to the UN Universal Periodic Review, the East Europe and Central Asia Union of People Living with HIV (ECUO/PLWH), and other national and international institutions and organizations.
