Ingeborg G. Gabriel is a professor emerita of Social Ethics at the Faculty of Roman-Catholic Theology at Vienna University. Before her academic career she worked with the United Nations Development Programme in the U.S. and in Asia. She has published widely on Catholic social teaching, ethics and human rights, economic and ecological ethics, with a special interest in ecumenism and inter-religious dialogue. She has served as Director of Justice and Peace Austria (2006–2016) and Vice-President of Justice and Peace Europe (2013–2019) and as Special Representative to the Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe OSCE (2017–2019).
