Elizaveta (Lisa) Gaufman is Assistant Professor of Russian Discourse and Politics at the University of Groningen, Netherlands.  She obtained her B.A. in International Relations with honours from Moscow State Institute for International relations (MGIMO) and her M.A. in Peace Research with honoursand her PhD in Political Science, both from Eberhard-Karls-Universität Tübingen, Germany, with the dissertation “Enemies at the Gates: Threat Narratives in Putin’s Russia. Her research areas include migration policy, enemy images, foreign policy and new media.
