Maria Kravchenko is an expert at the SOVA Center for Information and Analysis, a Moscow-based Russian nonprofit organization founded in October 2002. SOVA Center conducts research and informational work on nationalism and racism, relations between the churches and secular society, and political radicalism, and is interested in human rights issues, especially government misuse of counter-extremism measures. Among many analyses and reports, Kravchenko is the author of Inventing Extremists: The Impact of Russian Anti-Extremism Policies on Freedom of Religion or Belief, a report for the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF).
