Mieczysław Różański obtained his doctoral degree at the Catholic University of Lublin (1999) and his post-doctoral degree (doktor habilitowany) at John Paul II University in Kraków (2011). He is a professor at the University of Warmia and Mazury (UWM) in Olsztyn. Różański previously served as vice-dean and dean of UWM’s Faculty of Law and Administration; he was also a member of the Senate and Senate committees at UWM. He is a supervisor of two doctoral theses and has taken part in many doctoral and habilitation proceedings.

Różański is the author of 5 monographs and the editor of 18 multi-author monographs and almost 200 articles. These publications include Definition of Marriage in Canon Law (2015), Diocesan Curia in the Code of Canon Law 1917(2016), The Offence of Defamation (Slander) of a Believer or Clergyman in the Penal Code 1997 (2016), Tasks of Churches and Religious Associations in the Preservation of Cultural Heritage in Poland (2017), Offices in the Diocesan Curia in the Code of Canon Law 1917 (2018), Religious Issues in the Polish Constitution of 1921 (2019), Debates Around the Ban on Ritual Slaughter in the Second Polish Republic (2019), Conferences of the Episcopate of Poland and the Czech Republic vis-à-vis Restrictions on Worship During the First Period of the Covid 19 Pandemic (2024), Patronage Law—A Traditional Form of Financing in the Catholic Church (2024), and The Historical-Legal Aspect of the Concept of Marriage in Polish Lands (2024).
Różański has held scientific internships in Rome, Italy; Ternopil, Ukraine; Olomouc, Czech Republic; Banska Bystrica, Slovakia; and elsewhere. He has presented at international conferences in Banska Bystrica, Olomouc, Ternopil, Rome, Bari (Italy), and Trnava (Slovakia).
